Perhaps the start of a new series? It sure would be useful for coaster enthusiasts trying to plan out optimal days on coaster trips.

My personal favorite place to eat outside of the Cedar Point resort is the Thirsty Pony. Excellent restaurant. Plus, it's connected to the Cedar Lanes Bowling Alley. It's also just down the road from Cedar Point

I’ve also been going no less than 20+ times per season for many many years. This is missing a lot! Make sure if you wear glasses or sunglasses you buy and use a glasses strap, as most coasters require you to do so. And for pants, make sure you wear cargo shorts or pants, having button, Velcro, or optimally zipped pockets, to store your phone, and wallet. They will fall out otherwise. Also, if you bring a carry on bag, get a locker as most coasters don’t have bins. Also, bring ponchos and accept the weather at CP is very uncontrollable. The weather may be sunny, and still rain. Most coasters run in the rain still, it’s wind and lightning that shut down most.

Whenever we go we always stop at Fazoli's in Sandusky on our way home. It's about 15 minutes from the park. It's a fast-food Italian restaurant (a rarity), and the food is good. If you don't have a Fazoli's where you live and you want something different check it out.

Booked a few nights at Hotel Breaks in early June as I will be going to go to Coastermania this year. It is part of a Pennsylvania trip where I will visit Hershey, Kennywood, Knoebels, Dorney Park, Lakemont, Waldameer, and even Conneaut Lake. I haven't been to the Pennsylvania parks but have been to Cedar Point a few times. It will be nice to get back to Cedar Point.

Check to see what day in August that schools in Ohio are opening up. Plan your trip after that.

If concerned about $ and going for a day, take a picnic lunch in a cooler. You can drop the cooler off in the picnic shelter (outside and left of main entrance). Never had a problem in doing that for 30 years.

Also, as of right now, CP is not doing Fastlane this year. If they do, then Fastlane+ ranges $120-150.

You’d Gould do this for other large parks too. I’m thinking Carowinds, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Six Flags Great Adventure.

For food outside the park Andy’s China dragon express is about 8mins from the park. They’ve got a drive thru and are open later in the summer so it’s perfect for after the park. Not to mention it’s cheap and the portions are huge!

CP is my home park and my first trip was in 2007. Gone every year since. I've never done the train ride. lol I've never even heard of the thrills VIP tours. I had no idea you could do that! I love this park. I just hope i can start making open to close trips without getting tired again. Age is starting to and im only 27. LOL RIP. Also fast lane plus is DEF worth it if you can afford to do it. Can't wait for my trip to KI in a month as well. I need my coaster fix!

My last trip was in 2013, weekend in May. We stayed at breakers hotel, was worth it, but cheaper than it is now. Friday night was go karts, mini golf, dinner. Saturday we got fast lanes, was definitely worth it, rode all the good coasters multiple times. Sunday we rode maverick, favorite in the park, in the morning till lines got long, then rode flat rides and family rides and a couple more coasters with short lines.
Had a fantastic time and am planning my next trip in 2022.

You hit the nail on the head. I agree with everything you said. I think the three most critical things to having a good time at cedar point is staying on site, getting the fast lane plus and staying for at least 2 nights. I’d also recommend spending an afternoon (on the day you day you don’t get fast lane plus) on the beach. It’s so relaxing and fun. Then go back into the park for dinner and ride some more rides until closing time. This is an incredible experience that you’ll never forget. Take Brandon’s advice!

When I worked there on my day off I would come up to the park around 8 am and then walk back to steel Vengeance and 8:45 am get back there and one of the first rides on it and then do all the other early enter rides and then head back down to my room till around 6pm and do the night rides on everything and most of the time get last ride on Steel Vengeance or Maverick.

If you want to stay off property, there is a decent Quality Inn right by the entrance to Cedar Point. It’s quite affordable too, just being a standard hotel
