do you use shotcut to make your shotcut tutorials?

I have a Shotcut questions. Lets say you are just about done, but you find a section at the beginning that you want to cut out because it is just not needed and your video is pushing too long anyway. My issue is say I cut out a 20 second piece somewhere at the beginning, then there is a gap there. No problem just scoot the next section over, but that leaves 20 second gap, and so on. Is there a button that gets rid of the gap without causing new gaps. I hope that makes sense. I usually am more vigilant at the beginning knowing I can't fix it by the time I am at the end. That is the huge mistake I am making.
