Easily Remove Ball Joint From Knuckle! #Shorts

This trick works great to pop a ball joint from an arm or a socket like in a knuckle. It can be used to remove both sides of a ball joint. In this video I demonstrate pulling a Subaru ball joint from the knuckle. Even when very rusty, this works well. It helps to spread the ball joint clamp a bit before attempting. Hope this helps!

I actually like hammering control arms. They deserve it.

I think the rust was the only thing keeping that ball joint in there 😂

That's a nice idea, I was struggling with this, trying jacking it up and hammering but this seems much better.

Spent hours trying to remove the original LH ball joint out of 08 SubOutb, saw the original video and had them both out in 15min. Brilliant !

2011 Subaru Outback and rust just kicked my *s$... getting that ball joint loose from the steering knuckle.

This technique and video short saved the day!
Definitely do it this way!

I have to lift, wedge and drop several times with two pickle forks shimmed/ wedged in that space.

Caution with spreading that cast knuckle with a chisel or flat screwdriver as a wedge. You don't want to break it.

I like vehicles that have split knuckles it's so easy to get them out just take the bolts out of it spread it open a little bit and Bloom

Notice he said he " spread the pinch clamp with the chisel" really fast. If you don't do that, it doesn't matter what else you do.

I used a torch to heat up the control arm a little than I whacked the ball joint with a lump hammer. It came out very easily
