I feel like aftermarket will make a lot of money of the yoke steering wheels because they will offer a regular steering wheel as an extra part.

I'm a fan of everything except for the steering wheel. Not only the odd shape, but the lack of stalks, especially for things like Autopilot and blinkers.

A little off topic but I heard an interesting suggestion from a caller to Ride The Lightning. For people that don't like the noisemakers sounds, under the customisable function, why not record a few minutes of silence onto an MP3 & plug that into the car? A lot simpler than scrambling around trying to disconnect wires etc.

Just saw a photo of a blue Model S. The slits in there bumper are illuminated. Seems they have LED fog lights.

The range of the three new Model S variants implies the LR and Plaid retain the 8256 cells (18650) of the current vehicle, but likely in a Model 3/Y style pack. The Plaid+ must have the new cells in new structural pack - and not just the 960 cells revealed at battery day. The 960 cells (40x24 array), based on dimensions, will have a usable 96 kWh. The Plaid+ will have 1440 cells (96S, 15P), 144 kWh (48x30 array). At 600 J/m (166.66 Wh/km, 268 Wh/mile, 26.8 kWh/100 miles of Range), the Plaid+ should go 864 km (537 miles).

I believe if you get the Plaid PLUS, then you do get the *carbon* *fiber* center console, unlike the regular Plaid.

So, did you get the new Model S at the old Model S price? Or did you get the new Model S plaid at the old Model S performance price? I guess I saved $500 off of the interior change that used to be $1, 500 and is now $2, 000. Are you loving the steering yoke? Me not so much. I'd rather that was optional. Going to have to take a test drive to see if I can stand it.

Wonder if adjustable air suspension is standard along with HEPA filter. I'm hoping driver side door can close automatically like the Model X. Can they please bring back the sunroof option?

Plaid and Plaid+ both come with carbon fiber trim instead of wood.

Lovin the update, but my 6 month old Model Y will have to hold me until I win a lotto. Now I wonder if the new S LR will get the Performance Boost Upgrade option as does the 3/Y????

Why did the range go down on the long-range model? It went from 405 to 360.

Hopefully, they fixed the half shaft issues on the Model X. We are going for that once we see some reviews and updates !
