The easiest way to make a robot arm base

Показать описание
I'm designing and 3d printing a robotic arm to hold a camera and make graceful camera movements - like those Bolt Motion Control robot arms that everyone seems to use these days.

In this video I 3d print the base using eccentrically cycloidal gears!

These are the supplies I used:
The PTFE grease came from eBay - search for "50g silicone PTFE grease"

The accuracy and smoothness of these gears are so satisfying! Always a treat to see another mechanism of yours

And the obligatory comment.. Are you sharing your design? STL or OBJ files so we can print one for ourselves? Great project, have been following along with the cycloidal variants.. But, have you thought about ball bearing cycloidal drive?

I did want to 😉👍
And I did also want to tell you that this is the smoothest low cost gear assembly for robot arms I have seen.
So well done. And beautifylly presented too.

The production quality is amazing, great work! Love the pacing and content but would also fully support longer videos with more detail too. Cheers!

I want to make this robot arm, but I cannot divide the Step assembly parts in Solidwork. Could you please share the step file of this robot arm in parts?

Those bb's werent having any of it! I'd be interested in a video on how resilient those 3d printed bearings are.

I have a giant favor to ask for myself and perhaps on behalf of all the new subscribers landing on your videos from over the pond. Quite a good number of the amazon links are no longer available. How possible is it to regenerate the links for the non-3d-printed accessories?

This is one of the smoothest DIY arms I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!

How will we handle the software part, which is the most important part?

In terms of algorithmic design ie. Inverse Kinematics, what are the best places to get started?

Absolutely wonderful!! I intend on using some of your principles in my own design!

Can you please share the files?
I would love to give it some thought and try to improve it 😜

Do you do online training course if so I’d sign up 😭😭 aside from that amazing work I’m still trying to picture and understand more about the actuators and gears and how well they would need to be together in some cases and situations.

This is looking really good. One of the smoothest I've seen so far. Can't wait to build my own!

Nice, I guess you could put some grease on the bearing balls to stop them from escaping
