I’m a police officer in a major city. I was on shift last night when this started. It wasn’t just AT&T that was affected, some Verizon users were down. The biggest issue is Firstnet is or was down also. That is the primary service used by first responders nationwide. We were operating with no phone and no computers, in todays age that’s extremely difficult and dangerous for us and the public. Our first thought was cyber attack. im amazed this is the only news coverage I’ve seen saying that.

You’d be a fool, not think it’s a cyber attack, considering the circumstances of the world. I’m pretty sure they got the information they wanted. Call it.

Maybe use some of the hundreds of billions of dollars to protect American infrastructure instead of sending to everyone in the world

For the record, this didn't just affect phone services... this also affected internet connections in general. Wireless internet customers use the same towers as cell phones.

Imagine how bad it'll be when the hackers find a way into all networks

As I've said elsewhere... we have been REPEATEDLY warned about hackers, communication, and power grid attacks...
If you have not stored some water and food, you're basically asking for trouble at this point.

Not a word said about the thousands of AT&T employees recently laid off or "early retirement". Much of the work has been sent to overseas contractors.

This is why everything shouldn't be connected to the internet. Hospitals, power stations, banks, etc etc. Keep everything stand alone, sure a big inconvenience but never had this problem before.

If it was a hacker or a cyberattack, and anyone died as a result, it's murder.

Given it was nation wide over multiple carriers, I'm going to bet that it was a cyber attack.

It must to be intentional to a certain degree. There is no way that it’s an isolated event nationwide….
