5. I have a question I would like to ask you. I have temp disability because of an anxiety condition.
My dad died and I am in a 3 way split on his law suit from his broken arm. He died from a stroke not the broken arm that happened in 2010. How will social security handle l me telling them I got a 8k or 15k check from my dad's broken arm? Will they take all my money will I be terminated from benefits? Will I be told to spend the money then re-apply? This video may help.

I have worked for Social Security. For Social Security Disability benefits based on your own work, most settlements would not affect your benefits. An exception is worker’s compensation benefits. You are limited to 80 % of your average earnings considering the total of your Social Security disability benefits and your worker’s compensation benefits. If you receive SSI ( Supplemental Security Income benefits ), any cash settlement would affect your SSI benefits and must be reported.

My point was if the person had more than amount with the cost of living they're saying the name is on mississaugus and shared SSI in them Medicare Medicaid other things to cover medicines and medications with that will not mess up their service and everything I want to ask if you can answer me those multiple question

Good day, Mr. Reeves. I just found your YouTube page and am impressed with your vast knowledge. I live in California. I receive SSA-SSDI benefits (30 year work history in office administration and paralegal) for 4 lumbar spine surgeries including fusion at L4-S1. I wonder if you can answer TAX questions or know of anyone who can answer a question about whether RETROACTIVE benefits are taxable "income" even though it's "disability" income. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am 58 disabled on SSI, Medicaid and Public am to suppose to received a $25, 000 life insurance payout from my deceased father. What are my options because in the end, the public services I receive have more value and do no want to disrupt them.

Please I have 2 questions and both of them regarding the same issue, I have an ssi income and ssdi income as well, but my Medicaid benefits comes through the ssi not from ssdi, so my question is if I get lump sum award because of the claim for pain and suffering after involved in car accidents, so would that will cut off my Medicaid benefits because I am very sure it will be affected-my ssi income. The other question, I had a consultation from attorney which she had confirmed that the pain and suffering claim or award will not consider as income and will not affect your (ssi income) at all, but I search on google and I find different answers.

Under SSA Rules there is listed (§ 416.926. Medical equivalence...there is this statement " we will compare your findings with those for closely analogous listed impairments." I have on my Echo-cardiograms testing results when combined would equate a Medical Listing, But not the Critical LVEDd measurement in the Data. Have you ever argued equivalency on Medical Testing Data. for Medical Equivalency?

Are you saying it’s possible that with SSDI a workers comp settlement of 10 thousand might not affect my monthly SSDI benefits ?

Hello and thank you for your video.
I received a workers Comp. Settlement in February 2020. Was told by the lawyer to put it in the bank in case of future surgery because I will not going to be able to used my Medicare for that once I retire. On May 2020 I became 66 years old and not able to go back to the same job that I got hurt and I was told by the lawyer to quit. Months later I decided to retire because the money left to me wasn’t going to be enough to live by. The biggest part of the settlement was left for future surgery. The SSA office new about my case because I applied years earlier for federal disability, hired a lawyer and got denied many times we gave up. Workers Comps lawyers don’t work for the injured. They do not advise but only on what’s convenient to them for them. Can you please tell me what am I doing wrong and if I need to correct my situation. I am collecting retirement and my settlement still in the bank except for some of it I used for supplement my monthly income from SSA. Thank you and hope to hear from you. Blessings.
