Learn how to use a hand tube bender to accurately and efficiently make 90° and 180° bends in tubing. Swagelok® hand tube benders provide consistent, high-quality bends in tubing made from most materials used with Swagelok tube fittings. To complete this project, you will need a Swagelok hand tube bender (corresponding to the tubing size), a piece of tubing, and a marker (a protractor is optional). The video also covers sizes/types of tubing that can be bent, as well as verification procedures for ensuring angles.

If your bending a 10 or 20 foot stick of tubing and it has a lot of bends in it, it is a good idea to take a piece of tie wire and make a model that you can bend with your fingers. That will make sure you put the tubing in the bender the right way instead of bend come out upside down. We had a guy on our crew that could take out his tape measure and look up into the structure 15 or 20 feet away from where the tubing would be going, somehow get his measurements from that distance and then bend a piece of tubing haul it up into the structure to install it and it would fit like a glove. When your on a big construction site there are a lot of people that are real artists when it comes to bending tubing but I never saw anyone that could get their measurements from a distance like that.

Those Swagelok roller benders are definitely some nice benders especially when your bending half inch SS tubing.

I'm going to do a project and this looks like the exact type of tubing I need, but I don't know what to search. What's this type of tube called and what size?

So question for any who can answer this. What is the point of using the L and R markings on the block? Personally whenever I bend tubing I choose to bend tubing like conduit I use take up and deduct methods. I’ve tried doing it this way but just don’t like the outcome of the quality of work

I can't find a good video that explains the take up theory and how it is applied in order to make an offset, mine are all 5/16 too big every time.
