The Persona sub-series of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise has been around since the late 90s, but you could argue that it was 2006’s Persona 3 that truly catapulted the brand to what it is today. Beloved for its thrilling story and compelling characters, ATLUS has returned to P3 with Persona 3 Reload, a remake that modernizes the JRPG classic without compromising anything that made it special in the first place.

Am i the only one that sees this scene and the original and find the original is better in the part were it start switching between Yukari and mc like there were actual switching back and forth and other stuff like the sound of running water and the music the mc is listening to is getting louder as she gets closer to pulling the trigger it everything really adds to the tense atmosphere of the scene this doesn't have that or even the switching between the two and it makes it more bland and uninteresting by comparison to the original

Upon seeing Makoto, he looks like he's contemplating his own existence rather than emotionless.

I wonder if they toned this scene down on purpose (trying to not to be as raw and depressing as the original for marketing reasons, for example) or if they didn't realized they downgraded it so much

The original was so much better in terms of direction, atmosphere and music, this is so generic in comparison.

I feel like certain aspects of both this version and the original cutscene have parts that work better than others. The original does well with Yukari having no voice lines when she has the evoker, which gives both a false and accurate sense of what is happening (as, apparently, evokers induce the feeling of death). However, I personally find a lot of the visuals too busy, often jumping from one thing to another that it gets distracting. It's something I feel like would fit more with the intensity of P5. This version, I feel, does well in a sense of isolating the protagonist, as well as the first frontal shot we are given with the shadow cast over his face and an unchanging, almost dead expression. Both versions also do his indifference towards the Dark Hour well, with the original having him sigh, while this having him only turn his head before he keeps walking with, again, a very unchanging expression. I wasn't paying attention, but I don't know if he even blinks a single time through the whole cutscene.

Remake/reboot failure because someone had to screw the original. This looks sharper, but the original had more air of mystery and tension. This is why I hate reboots/remakes.
And where are the coffins???? He doesn't even reach the building.
