At about 3:58 in the video you lift the range hood up at secure to the wood frame. But the duct from the ceiling is not centered on the hood and is not connected to the hood transition. You never show how you actually connect the duct to the hood. ?? Connecting duct work that is not centered over the range is always very difficult. How did you connect the duct? Thanks!

Can I join 2 hard ducts with semi rigid( half foot or less long)? Because the builder ran the gas pipe in the middle of the range, I had to offset the back wall exhaust. This is for under the cabinet hood. Hood -> adjustable 90 degrees hard duct -> semi rigid -> back wall hard duct exhaust.

I would like to install a range hood that vents to the outdoors but I live in a 2 story home, my stove is on the lower level and away from any outer walls. Do you have a solution or am I just out of luck short of any major reconstruction.

What is the best tape to use for this kitchen project? What temperature tape? 150 F or 200F or 250F.
The 250 seems very expensive.

I may just not have seen, but I usudlly would think it would be worthwhile, especially in areas with very cold attics, to have a better fit on drywall to ductwork. Also an issue in fire blocking. Maybe just make a sheetrock piece with a good fit and screwing it up to the ceiling, since it won't show once all your nice sheetrock work is on. Or maybe im being too picky

Great job do you have a video on how you built the framing for the hood?

You should never crimp a pipe against the airflow. Think of an arrowhead. The smaller side pointing the direction of the airflow. Dirt, grease, contaminants will get caught, not to mention create turbulence and slow down the flow.

The title offers a "why" flex duct isn't allowed but I can't seem to find that in your vid. Are you including semi rigid steel in that "NOT allowed" and can you touch base on the "why"?

All good except you left a massive hole in your ceiling :) which is where the air is going to leak. Would be good if you showed how you sealed it :)

You could of just straightened an elbow out to offset the pipe to where you needed it. How are you going to patch the huge hole you cut and seal it?

Great install. Please wear gloves as the rigid vent pipe can get you. Also use spray foam to seal the gap between the duct and the drywall.

just use another elbow not make lots of mess, easy job you may complicate
