Thank you for the review.
I have the LAUNCH 919X which I bought 2 years ago. I find it quite useful and cool but my only problem with it so far is its inability to at least support the capacity of most AGM batteries available within the increment of 10 probably from 60Ah to 130Ah. My old battery was 90Ah that died recently and I replaced with a 100Ah capacity and then I found it difficult to register the exact capacity into the DME so the alternator could charge appropriately according to the rated capacity. Now all that LAUNCH 919X have available for AGMs are 70Ah, 90Ah and 105Ah. No 80Ah and no 100Ah, etc. I spoke with its customer service rep and he said he would have to advise his technical department to include more choices in the next software update. I hope they do. 😀

Just bought the 919x to get me back into mechanics so interesting watch, will see how it performs.

Interesting comparision - they seem pretty similar - the price point might indicate that too, but the Launch's ability to communicate with later FP / DOIP networks would be useful. The Volvo's power-pulse is the compressed air tank that they use to spool the turbo at very low rpms - they love to pop the pressure hose btw !

Based on your previous review of the Launch unit I went ahead and purchased the the Launch.
Found a drivers door module fault that I never new I had.

I’ve just purchased the launch. I did hear that autel charge for updates, but the selling point for me is that it is the brand that you use.

What is the update cost for the 919x after the 2 years of free updates? Also, does it work exactly the same if you don't pay the updates?

I have an autel, but the launches seem to have the newer protocols which is better for the future.
We used to have an autel and a snap on machine in the workshop I was in previously - as you say, pick up the snap on and use it until one day it didn’t work on a vehicle. Pick up the autel, use that for a week until it didn’t work on a particular car on a particular function - then go back to the snap on and so on. Good to have 2 different brands 👍🏼

I had the Launch and connected to my Jeep and also to my sons Hyundai Gen spec R 4 and it did not pick up on codes for either. Hyundai code for Speed sensors and jeep for battery issues and locker sensors, So, I sold it and purchased The Autel MK 808s and could not detect or said it wasn't available. I purchased the update for $125. This was a waste of money. I'm selling this!!! My neighbor just purchased the Snap on Modus and it detected codes for both vehicles. A lot of money, but worth the extra money!!!

Thanks for this Jimmy mate, they both look like cracking tools for the price but I'd be going with the Launch one as it's got to be more future proof.

Thanks for the review Jimmy, great to get a true professionals view of these machines. After graphs prob look better.. I have a couple of cheaper Launch code readers always find they work well but feel the user control and screens a little dated.. They're great value though.. Love your videos keep them coming..👍👍

Thanks, for a great video.
I'm liking the Launch more now that I've seen this, but I still can't make a decision between the two. I could really do with knowing which works best on Mercedes Sprinters and VW Crafters.
Can anyone help with this?

I have the autel- won’t connect to my 2022 Renault Trafic
I’m wondering would the launch connect to my Trafic??? 😊

I was looking for a decent review of the 2. Pricey enough for diy but I feel like I need The same as I need every milwaukee tool. Launch would probably suit me better, but a slightly cheaper version might be more justifiable to "senior management" 😂😂

i got my 919x late august for my birthday.
great little unit i find it much better than a £5000 snap-on system that i did have access to use when i needed to.

Launch CRP919X looks more future proof. Definitely a faster machine too

I've reviewed a few of these scanners on my channel now, and Launch seem to be quite a bit better than Autel. I also like Kingbolen as a brand, they do some decent products, at decent prices. Some of these are crazy money though, considering you have to pay extra for Bi-Direction functions! I recently reviewed the Kingbolen K7, at least that comes with 3 Years free software updates though (including Bi-Directional) so that's my favourite right now. Great channel BTW 😁

They are both really good value but the CRP919X supports ECU coding on many car brands. The Autel does not. I haven't used it on too many brands, but on Honda and Toyota you can do an ECU replacement and write the VIN number with the CRP919X. On VW/Audi/Porsche the Launch can do a lot of calibrations and coding that you would require the more expensive Autel MP808S for.

Regarding the - "Particulate Trap Pressure Difference - 0.2 psi " WHERE can you obtain the manufacture data to know if what the computer is saying is correct or within limits of what it should be - or should it be as close to zero as possible ?? - sorry if this is a stupid question but just finding my feet with all this electronic stuff - Ive worked on plant machinery for years !!

Agree on having more than one tool but I have no bloody clue who is Launch. Autel for me.
