The country is separated from Asia by the Arafura and Timor seas with the Coral Sea lying off the Queensland coast. The Tasman Sea lies between Australia and New Zealand. With an area of 7617930 square kilometres Australia is the largest country by area in Oceania and the world's sixth-largest country. With US$1.748 trillion of nominal GDP, Australia has 25000 km of coastline and claims approximately 8150000 square kilometers of Exclusive Economic Zone. Australian Defence Force consists of the Australian Army Royal Australian Navy Royal Australian Air Force and several tri-service units. The Defence budget is around US$44 billion. Australian Defence Force has 3 special force units. Special Forces Group, Number 4 Squadron and Clearance Diving Branch.

All I can say about Aussies is they are some of the most fearless and dedicated soldiers. I was stationed at a FOB in Iraq. There were some Aussies there and they weren’t even a combat battalion they were engineers. We were gearing up to go on patrol outside the wire. We hear this hey you think you guys are going to have all the fun. Those Aussies ran out in full battle gear to go on patrol with us. They didn’t have to. They could have stayed back in relative safety, but were determined to watch are backs.

Australia and New Zealand also contribute to the defence of PNG, Timor Leste, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, the Solomon Islands and other countries in the South Pacific, as well as contributing to humanitarian missions in the region, eg the tsunami in Indonesia and cyclone relief for the South Pacific. Both countries punch well above their weight in world affairs.

Even as back as far as WW2 if you read the major German generals notes in battle they were terrified of Australian servicemen due to their strength in battle. Deadset go back and read their opinions and battle accounts against Australian forces, fascinating stuff.

The footage that comes after the Special Forces Group title shows the standard infantry of the Royal Australian Regiment. We know this because they’re armed with the Lithgow EF88 (Improved design on the AUG). Aussie Special operations are armed with the M4 and variations. They don’t use the Steyr. There was no footage of the Clearance Diving Teams, 2nd Commando Regiment, Special Air Service Regiment or RAAF 4 Squadron.

Australia is double that size. You forgot Australian Legislated official Australian Antarctic Territory adminstered by the state of Tasmania. It comprises about 42% of the Antarctic. This territories status has been suspended but is not extinguished by the Ant-Arctic treaty up for renewal by 2045. As a result Australian law remain in force over this territory under provisions of this treaty to Australian citizens on that territory. There are also a number of Australian permanent settlements on this territory and islands. The EEZ of this territory are regularly patroled by Australian Naval assets.
