Our biggest weakness is only having 2 weeks worth of fuel reserves. Doesn’t matter how big your military is without fuel

A U.S official once told me "I took troops to Townsville to train the Australians - ended up getting trained".

490, 000 Australians served in WW1 out of a 5 million population, Australians first led US forces into battle in WW1, we have fought alongside them in every conflict since

Our ADF is mighty but our problem lies with the lack of help our veterans get from our government. I am a chaplain who works with injured veterans, having been injured myself as a reg in 90, and i am apalled at the lack of help and the beauracratic hoops that vets need to jump through to get any help at all while the brass is too busy creating and implementing gender based policy. Then the government has the cheek to wonder why veteran suicide rates are high. God bless all our past, present and future service people. We owe them our freedoms.🇦🇺🙏🏼🇦🇺

That view of a Canberra class "carrier" at 6:06 is incredible! It really scales the beast to see those sailors all lined up. This was a highly complimentary overview which had me holding back tears of pride, but holding them back only because in-country what we mostly hear about is things like cost overruns, equipment problems, recruiting problems etc... but at least we're working these problems out in peacetime. One Commander of the US Pacific Fleet has said the alliance with Australia adds 20% to his capabilities in this ocean, which is nice to hear.

Re the history of the ADF, the Australians were the first army to inflict land defeats in both the German army, and the Japanese during WWII.

Well I’ve always felt secure and safe in Australia, and will always feel secure and safe in Australia. If I have to fight, may god be with me and forgive me, I will fight for this country and for the freedom of our people. God bless Australia 🇦🇺

The Australian infantry is extremely well trained. They've less troops than a regiment. So very small, but they're trained to a very high degree.

You left out the purchase of K9 Self Propelled Artillery, Apache Helicopters, 45 Blackhawk Helicopters, Redback IFV's, Nuclear powered subs underway ( AUKUS), the new Hunter Class Frigates. Also, the F90 is the latest standard rifle, and is a significant upgrade on the F88. Perhaps an add on for a future update?

Just to be ‘that guy’, the new service rifle is the EF-88, with the older weapon system being the famous F-88 ( not sure if the RAAF & Navy still use the F-88 mainly )

The biggest weakness of the ADF is that it only has 6 weeks beer reserves as from 2023.

Needs to be 4 times bigger in all departments plus on shore manufacturing.

As an Aussie, i honestly think we have a lot of secret stuff going on with the U.S.A. I mean we have Pine Gap and other U.S bases here who knows what testing goes on in the middle of Australia?

Australia needs to keep modernising its armed forces right across the board hopefully by 2040 we will be a force to be reckoned with

Besides staff retention the major problem is the equipment upgrades that get approved by government are usually decades behind our allies and pretty much obscelete when we get them.
Helicopters, jets, self propelled artillery, submarines ( if they ever arrive) and in most cases massively over budget

Remember we’re a young country and we’ve only been around for like 200 years
