Mechanical gears for the sake of simplicity and ease of maintenance.

No big deal to replace a cable every like 5-10 years.

I like my SRAM AXS electric shifting. I needed a new road bike after a broken frame. Not saying I would upgrade a bike just for electronic shifting but if I was getting a new road bike I would get it with electronic shifting.
