Another Airport Decided To Remove Chick-Fil-A. Here's Why

Chick-fil-A is a fast food business that's beloved by some, but controversial to others — and if you're not familiar with the reasons why, the intensity of the debate can be surprising.

The latest development in what can be called a bit of a culture war over Chick-fil-A has to do with a new airport terminal being built for the Kansas City International Airport. Set to open in 2023, it's been described as a state-of-the-art facility with all of the amenities any kind of traveler would need as they cross the country — except a Chick-fil-A.

If it sounds familiar, a similar thing happened in San Antonio, Texas in 2019. Wondering why another airport decided to get rid of Chick-fil-A? Here's why.

What's your favorite thing to order from Chick-Fil-A?

In my area, the lines go out of the parking lot and onto the highway and they are still faster than Burger King or Mc Donalds.

Chick-fil-A doesn't need any airport! Whenever I go there's a line around the block!

I’d have to say the chic fil a workers are usually on top of things and very respectful. Other chains are a hit or miss.

I enjoy chick- fil...a and I believe they have their beliefs and thats OK...they are allowed to have it's own groups they believe in...just like I have my beliefs. They hire lgbt they serve lgbt...what they do with their money is their business. What if I don't like who you donate to or your beliefs? Do I have the right to shut down your business or tell you who to donate to?

At the end of the day they are a restaurant and their job is to serve you food with excellent customer service not agree with your lifestyle. They didn't open to cater to anyone lifestyle, simply order your food and leave. Whatever airport decides not to have them it's their lost. I haven't seen a struggling location yet. Chick-fil-A will be just fine with less haters.... Stop looking for issues and just live your life the way you choose 🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm sure Chick-fil-A is going to be alright not being in the Kansas airport. Who the heck cares! Standing for something you believe in doesn't mean you hate others!

I used to work at a gym in SF that stopped selling Bang Energy Drinks because they supported Trump. We used to sell 150+ cases a month but they replaced it with some disgusting tasting Energy drink that "had the right political opinion" and we couldn't even sell 5 cases a month.

Before getting into a political discussion, one of Chick-Fil-A's major corporate policies is to be closed on Sundays Was the airport really going to allow the restaurant to be closed on one of the bigger travel days of the week? Never asked/never answered. Mashed, as usual, followed its usual practice of regurgitating a quick surface view of other media and doesn't do any investigating/verification of its own.

Yes, these are the things I think about when I want a chicken sandwich.

I’m gay. I eat there often. I’m glad they make the SJW crowd angry.

So, KC doesn't want Chik Fil A. Who cares, it's Chik Fil A's rite to have their business beliefs.

Who cares if that minority group like their business plan. Go eat somewhere else. So sick of the few trying to force the many to change. There are plenty of businesses that I don’t approve of but I don’t get my undies in a bunch. Choose to just go where I approve.

These are the same people operating airports who will do nothing about their broken facilities, issues with stolen luggage, unnecessarily long wait times, and overall poor customer service but they will go out of their way to make sure a restaurant that has its own principles isn’t in existence there.

You lost me by bringing Lindsey Graham into the conversation. He goes whichever direction the wind is blowing - as long as it's in his favor... 🙄

Being inclusive is the greatest value for the new terminal. It's demonstrated by excluding those with whom we disagree. Are they blind to their hypocrisy?

CFA is a private company and they can do what they see best for their business. Don’t want to support them…don’t eat there. Tell your friends bot to eat there. Take out newspaper ads telling people you don’t think they should eat there. As for me, I’ll keep enjoying their righteous chicken sammich.
