I almost pity them, they are selling an image of beauty they can't even achieve but I am still surprised when I see aggressive photoshop in high fashion magazines, I thought we evolved past that. Every month, I'm reviewing on my channel the best and worst covers, and a lot of the time, it is too much photoshop that ruins a photo. In the May cover for Harper's Bazaar España, the mistakes you bring up are present; the over-whitened sclera of the eye, the blurring of the nasolabial folds.

Just saying the Gwen one is in an article, so let's remember it's very unlikely she was involved in the photo selection/editing process. That's on the media outlet for choosing an edited pic with a full face of makeup to go with content about her complexion.

so I think a lot of these aren't edited on photoshop where you can liquify things very stealthily but done on phone apps, where there is usually just a slider to slim and tweak features and will often warp the background as well, that is probably why there are weird anomalies with the background doors and stuff, or maybe there was litter or something there they lazily got rid of with these phone apps!

As for the KarJen family in particular, a lot of people think it's an equal mix of body dysmorphia and wanting attention. Badly edited pictures get comments and reposts and discussion.
