As much as I love a good Lexus, they've definitely taken styling inspiration from a Beluga for that one. It's not ugly, that's just a little jarring.

One car I was expecting on this list - the 508 PSE. Those things have depreciated like made and, while they have a few clues, nobody expects a big Peugeot to be that fast.

Having owned a sleeper, it was fun out on the road where you decide if you show your hand or not. On the other hand, I did get a bit bored of people at work asking why I bought a slow, boring hybrid - although it being a generally very rare car was probably a big factor in that.

Still, I actually can't pick between fast looks and a sleeper. In the past, sleeper all day...but then I owned a Porsche and realised just how excited/impressed non-car people can be for a flashy car, whereas in a sleeper nobody cares until you overtake them (and generally then they just get annoyed, not impressed). There's a limit to the gap though - you can have a 1000hp sleeper, but a car that looks fast can't be entirely slow, it just doesn't have to be a rocket.
