I've had the biggest moment yet in my cabin life. I am learning how to renovate and build things here on the channel. I have a ton to learn and you have all been a big help. In this video, I have a lightbulb moment that I believe will have a huge impact going forward.

Pre starting screws is the best idea. By the way, some of these guy's will act like they know more then you no matter how much you know. Sometimes learning on your own can be more satisfying then learning from others how to do it. You're doing a great job figuring it out. Thanks for the videos.

Lowes and Home Depot down here carry Spax screws. They are designed to carry weight 90 degrees to the insertion direction. They have larger heads on them, about the size of a US Nickel. You should add two of these Spax screws to the bottom of your 2x4 spindles. This would give them some strength. If you ever fell into the rail, you don’t want just deck screws holding you back. I believe they are referred to as washer head Power Lags, etc.

Have you thought of building a storage bench on the outside wall that could be filled with firewood from outside? Insulate it and the access door outside, and insulate the lid at least and you would have firewood storage inside out of sight, and have a bench seat for sitting around the woodstove.

Put some bracing/fixing at the top sides of the rail otherwise the leverage from leaning/falling on it could easily snap the lower screws.

Filling a Canadian Tire bucket with splits is pretty much the most Canadian thing ever.

Watching you go through so many of the same realizations I have. Nothing is ever common sense the first time you do it. If you haven’t been shown, the only way to learn is through struggles and mistakes. Looking great!

The railing came out great. It's amazing how owning a home teaches you how to become a builder, plumber and an electrician. Especially with todays prices. Keep the videos coming!

Maybe you should build a small shed for your snow mobile. Nothing crazy, just something to keep it out of the elements. And maybe a little stove to warm it up a couple of hours before you leave. Just a thought.

Jay that chimney oven is amazing. It adds so many cooking options in one unit.

Love seeing your excitement. Attach the rail to the stair rail. It will make both more stable. Also attach the rail to the wall by the bed to add stability.

Jay, I noticed last video, you were worried about your 2200 W Honda gennie...My neighbour gave me an oversized insulated dog house with a door front and back to use as a cover for my 3000 W inverter YAMAHA gen.. After I start my gen, plug in the wires, I roll it up ( small 2 ft ramp) into the dog house. Both doors open...act like a fireplace..front door like a draft, back door like a flue. Rain and snow doesn't come in, quiet ...you could just a cut a door on each side of your generator box (with hinges), one side for exhaust, the other for air intake....keep at 'er....

Jay, I am sure you have heard it by now, but you need to tie that new railing into the wall and anchor it more securely. Someone trips and falls it that, the whole thing is going over.

Jay, thank you for putting up that rail! I was having nightmares of you falling off!

Every time you talk about clamps, it reminds me of the character on Futurama who talks about his clamps.

Jay, I agree with someone that said you need the proper bolts for your railing near the bed.

Love the work you do Jay, I've missed the guitar intro! I'm so so glad you added it on this one. It's so peaceful and suits your channel perfectly. Keep it up man, the cabin is looking incredible

I mentioned to you last video and I’ll mention it one more time. When using a saw that draws that much current instantly all you need to do is switch eco throttle off on your Honda. That’s why it is there. When finished turn eco throttle back on. Great video as always Jay. Plus you should check your draw on power while cutting.
