Pretty brave of you filming all this without knowing how it's going to end. Lot of smart talk from others here on the comments, but i bet more than one would be crying like a baby. My respect for you Ethan!

It was reported that the aircraft was actually heavier than normal because of all the bricks that were shat by the passengers..

"Water" and "Landing" are not two words you want to hear in the same sentence.

Aircraft don't "land" on water. They crash on water. You don't of course say that to the passengers at the time, or they would freak!

Someone should emergency land into Area 51 and figure out all the creepy mysterious shit that's going on down there.

That happened to me on a flight from Houston to Columbus. After take off, the engines had too much ice accumulated. We had to fly until enough fuel could be dumped, and we could lighten the plane enough to land. I literally kissed my ass goodbye.

Cathay Pacific is one of the safest airlines flying today.  If you have to be on a flight making an emergency landing, you would want to be flying Cathay.

I was a single flight attendant on a Dornier 323 - a 32 pax airplane - and our landing gear froze and would not lock down. I had to prepare the cabin for an emergency landing. It was one of the most inexplicable feelings I have ever had - an inexplicable feeling of a 1000 boulder dropping in the pit of my stomach, mixed with incredible fear, a surge of adrenaline, and the dread and concern that comes with the reality of understanding that I alone was responsible for preparing those 30 people for the all to real possibility of a crash landing and making sure that every single one of them was as calm as possible and got out of that plane. And the feeling came in a nanosecond all at once. I will never forget it. Thank the Lord Almighty that the landing gear locked at the last second and everyone was perfectly fine but noone knew until the wheels hit the pavement. I will never forget it.
But we are prepared and trained so rigorously and continuously that I didn't even have to think - I just acted and was ready.
But I had a lot to do and I just know that being a pax would be so much worse because it would just be a feeling of complete helplessness.

As a pilot I want to remind everyone that your pilot really wants to live to, just a good way to look at things.
(If for some reason your pilot does not want to live, there is a copilot who could easily grab the fire axe or do what he needs to go to incapacitate the pilot or vice versa who was having a "bad day" but that's an extreme longshot, but I know someone will ask)

It's incredible how poised and efficient the crew seemed to be during this event. Passengers, too. I've been on loads of flights where people flipped their lid over not getting their coffee at just the right temperature. Kudos to everyone on that plane for (what seemed like) a very rational response to a very terrifying possibility.

*This happened to me during the summer of 2018*
Friend and I were going to Egypt and we were having engine issues.
We were told to brace for water landing.
We started to decline and, literally 5 minutes before landing we got response from military airport that we can land.
On Cyprus.
We waited 10-12 hours for the next plane, our first day of the vacation was obviously ruined.
I was pretty much anxious when we needed to return home after vacation.
I will never forget the turbulance while declining, darkness, red lines on the floor that showed exit, couples holding hands preparing to go together, some people screaming and little kinds crying... It was like a movie.
I wasn't scared until we landed and I started shaking. It was all too unreal for me.

To all the people who have fears of flying, remember, its the safest type of transport. There are over 10, 000 car accidents every DAY but about only about 8 a YEAR for planes. Trust the pilots and the aircraft

This guy was so calm because he knew cameramen always survive.

After surviving a potentially fatal situation, this man's reactions was: "We landed. Yes."
