Keep Updating Bambu Studio or Switch to Orca Slicer?

Today I will walk through some of the differences in Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer. I will also reveal which one I will use moving forward.

TBH, the "security enhancements" can't happen until you update beyond 01.08.02 firmware on your X1, and if you DO upgrade beyond that you basically won't be able to directly use Orca any more, until we see what "Developer Mode" means.
So, in light of the hububb, I assume you're staying on the older firmware and keeping your X1C in LAN Mode until this all shakes out?

You ignored the Other tab and I was hoping to see the differences in Fuzzy skin; probably the only feature that might cause me to switch, if they implemented fuzzy skin for the top layer. Other than that, Bambu Studio has worked well on my Kickstarter X1C. Not sure if any of those other extra features would be useful for my prints. Thanks for the detailed rundown of the differences!

There is absolutely no reason you can't run them both ;) I go back and forth, they both have their pros and cons.

Studio doesn’t allow high quality Calibration like Orca. You have some aspects of full calibration available in Studio but no where near as comprehensive as Orca provides. Really wish Studio would provide more calibration options.

i have update to the very latest bambu and i have no issue at all using orca or any other slicer

I prefer Orca but I am using both because I have import problems with svgs in Orca. Bambu Studio v.1.10.2 imports them fine but Orca 2.3 beta2 creates problems with many parts imported with missing edges and cannot slice.

Mine runs crap in lan mode, if disconnected from the wan, it doesn't sync with my pc at all, makes me think something is still being sent to Scambu

I never would have guessed your opinion with all those air quotes at the beginning of the video. You're biased from the start. Not only that but this video missed granularity of Bambu settings because you don't know how to unlock them.

The slicer has nothing to do with the security updates. It’s printer firmware. Don’t update it and you’ll be fine.
