I think Semenya is intersex. That doesn't take away from all the things stated here, but adds an extra layer to it. Those who want to create this very specific binary sex conversation don't care one iota about intersex people, the history of how infants were surgically changed (and where a lot of interesting gender convos come into play), and that the erassure of intersex people impacts access to important healthcare.
