I Loved Middlemarch. It is very readable and you won't notice how long it is.

I am currently reading 2 big books: "Little Women" and "Crime and Punishment", loving both of them. Hope to read some more and still read 50 book this year (my goal, fingers crossed).

I totally also find that big books are often my favourite reads. Partly also because they take a while to get through and so you tend to associate them with a particular place and time in your life more than with shorter books. I love both Middlemarch and Crime and Punishment. Middlemarch definitely had enough plot to keep me interested throughout! Hope you enjoy them and look forward to hearing your thoughts :)

Definitely Oathbringer (from The Stormlight Archive). It‘s genuinely the biggest book I own, it‘s massive!

I went into Middlemarch completely blind of the plot and I honestly wouldn’t ask to read it any other way; I’m currently reading it for the first time now and I’m absolutely loving it, so please don’t be too worried about going in not knowing the plot! I’m determined to get to some of the big Russian classics this year too (I’ve heard so many great things about Anna Karenina from Carolyn on her channel and I really want to get found to reading it in February whilst the weather is still cold) as well as some Donna Tartt. I also just want to say thank you for all of your content; with all the chaos of a global pandemic the coziness of your videos is so calming and comforting. :)

I love your Channel! Your videos are so soothing. The Goldfinch is fantastic. Tartt's writing is so descriptive, I felt like I was experiencing everything right along with Theodore Decker. I am an avid reader, but not the fastest reader and I devoured that book in a week.

I read both the Goldfinch and the Secret History and I liked them both! I liked Secret History more (it’s one of my favorite books!) but The Goldfinch was very intriguing

When I was at uni, Middlemarch was the first book we were set, and we were encouraged to approach it like a soap drama in the sense that you can chip away at it and tune in to see what each character is up to. It didn't end up being my kind of book, but I definitely agree that it's a good way to make the large book seem less daunting! x
