Due to his popularity and sales value, Mario has appeared in countless cloned/pirated games in the 8-Bit era, these are just a few examples. According to my research there is a 1500 in 1 multicart that features literally hundreds of (very low quality) pirate hacks, many of which feature Mario, Goombas, and Koopa Troopas.

Many of these bootlegs can be "redone" or "remade" with good sprites, backgrounds and enemies perfectly

Kart Fighter is by far the only one worth more than a curious look. They had to do a ton of work on the sprites alone. From the ground up graphics. That's not to say anything bad about this video. It's a great complie!

I laughed my sides off when I saw Mario riding Bowser in Stage 4 of the Circus Charlie hack! Imagine that same scenario but depicted with Nintendo's official 3D models of the characters. Same thing with Mario's head sticking out of the Vic Viper's cockpit in the Gradius hack.

Funnily enough, there's another Mario-themed hack of Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle that stars Toad instead of Mario. It didn't make sense at first, but now that we have Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker, "Toad's Crazy Castle" could be seen as a predictive, 8-bit, 2D take on Captain Toad.

As much as I've grown tired of that Vinesauce meme, you missed a trick by not including "Super Mario 7 GRAND DAD", which is a bootleg of The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy.

That Mario Dragon title is pretty well made for a hack. Also the Kid Niki 3 hack is my personal favorite of the bunch, I remember beating it years back.

The best part about all these bootlegs is that it brings to more people's eyes these weird and obscure NES/Famicom games that, like, five people would've heard of outside of Japan if it wasn't for some Chinese person taking them and slapping Mario's head onto the player character's sprite.

I have a 4 in one Famicom cart that has Chip and Dale, Joe & Mac, The 3rd Kid Niki and Tiny Toon Adventures as Mario hacks. My favorite being the Kid Niki hack, and I also beat it as well. Such fun.

For the Mario Chip and Dale, I think the Charging Chucks should be the mechanical bulldogs instead of Bowser and the Rexes should be the jumping mice instead of Yoshi. Bowser should be Fat Cat and Yoshi should be one of the good guys.

I was curious why Super Mario Bros. 8 had a 2021 release date associated with it and it turns out that one is a hack specifically designed to imitate these bootlegs! Props to Crying Onion for that one, the Mario sprites look great.
