The thief on the cross is the absolute greatest argument against people who mock easy believism. God loves us and did not want to over complicate salvation. Trust fully that the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified and resurrected for your sins and you WILL be saved. Good works will come as a natural by-product of your salvation.

If you love Jesus you obey Him. If you don’t love Jesus you don’t obey Him.

For instance I know a woman who divorced her husband and married her boss who also divorced his wife.

The woman told me Jesus wanted her to be happy.

This is not something saved people do. In order for her to repent leaving her adulterous relationship would be required.

True belief is accompanied with works.

Dead faith or believing in vain does not save you.

This is such a gross simplification. Yes, Jesus yoke is easy and his burden is light, but that's not the same thing as "Easy Believism." The same Jesus who says, "come to me all who are weary and heavy laden" is the same Jesus who says, "count up the cost, " "take up your cross, " and "if any man comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple."
