Solid video. I have a similar 7.1 onkyo receiver. I’m trying to connect a 2.0 or 2.1 speaker set up, but am I losing out on sound effects if the receiver is sending stuff to the center and rears that are non existent? Also I’ve used an RCA to 3.5mm to connect it to my tv.

I have a roku smart tv and pioneer vsx-43 receiver. I have it plugged in with hdmi arc to receiver. I only have the receiver tuner that sound come through speakers. However not the TV sound or dvd sound only sound through TV. What have I missed?

I have a onkyo TX-SR508 hooked up to surround sound and an HDMI cable running from my smart tv to the HDMI out port on the receiver but I can’t get the sound from YouTubeTV to work on the surround sound speakers, is there something else I need to be doing?

Need support for setting up my surround sound speakers (Left, Right, Center, Woofer) to my non-Smart TV and receiver. I have a Samsung TV that has HDMI, although an older Pioneer VSX-D811S receiver that does not have HDMI. What cables are needed to establish Digital Signal Optical connection from (TV, Receiver, Speakers)? I do have an optical "out" on the TV and was thinking of getting a converter adapter from optical to analog and plugging the white/red "in" to the Aux inputs. Seems like it would work?

Thanks. Our 10 year old SHARP tv is dying. Am looking for replacement. Your instructional video gave me hope. Have had surround sound system for past twenty-twenty five years or so. im trying connect my old Bose stereo to play with my new smart tv, i have the hdmi to RCA with the RCA's plugged into the BOSE stereo and the hdmi into the tv do i need to also have something into the tv provider box? ive been trying everything and cant seem to get it to work

I have a Onkyo receiver and Sony Bravia TV. When I take the HDMI from the TV to the HDMI ARC, I don't have sound through the receiver. It was originally setup with a cable box but now I removed the cable box and just stream and thought it should be pretty straightforward. But, no sound from the TV. Any suggestions.

i hope you reply im needing a little help, i have a Hisense smart tv and a Sony multi-channel receiver, i tried the HDMI cord but i heard somewhere that both devices have to support ARC which it doesn't say it on the receiver then my step father told me i could just run the red white yellow cables but there's no where on my tv that has the 3 spots so i got an attachment that plugs into the spot and breaks out into the red white yellow. we don't want to hook up any play stations or dvds we only want it for sound for netflix and all the in apps on the tv hope this makes sense and i hope i hear back from you and can get this figured out
