You, my friend, are a life saver! I was able to get down to the LEDs in an hour, found that a connection was very lightly corroded, and got the majority of the LEDs working. Turns out one LED did burn out, and now I’m ordering the parts.

Man, looking at the prices for spare backlights where i live it makes a lot more sense to just get a second hand TV for an extra $50, it would be a massive upgrade to boot.
I'm a huge advocate for repairing stuff myself if it makes financial sense, sadly this does not where i live.

Question, i bought a replacement 2020 model tv from facebook market place with a “bad motherboard” so i put my motherboard in it, it powers on the tv… LED backlight comes on and all but the image has lines and it doesn’t show anything… wish i can upload a picture. My mother board is from a 2018 of the same tv model but the motherboard does show component differences, but would that really cause lines and distortion on the LCD panel?

I even went ahead and transferred over my ribbon cable and still nothing, so i essentially just changed the LCD panel at this point.

Can I install the plastic screen that was melted on the edge by the leds so that the melted edge is on the top opposite from the led backlights?

Changed the backlights which were definitly the initial issue. Now the screen lights up but the display isn't showing up its just a fully lit darker screen instead of booting up with a white screen. Any ideas?
