50 inch Samsung half dark picture. UN50NU6900B FULL TV repair.

preview_player
Показать описание
This Samsung 50" television powers on but one half of the screen looks almost totally black. This Samsung model un50nu6900b uses 2 edge-lit backlight strips which are located at the top (one for left/right side) of the television screen inside the TV. Obviously when this problem occurs, one out of the two strips are burned out.
So in this video we are going to troubleshoot the televisions led circuit located on the power supply board, determine we only have a bad back light strip, proceed to disassemble the television, replace the backlight strip, and repair this Samsung TV.

I came back to this video to follow up on this repair. I did this repair by myself last year in late December. The replacement went fine with no problems but the other day I noticed one side was starting to get dim which is the side I didn't replace the strips as I only replaced one side of LEDs. I'm planning on fixing the TV again and using the 2nd strip I have left over from the last repair. This video has helped me tremendously and would recommend this video to people looking to repair their TV.

I didn't have the suction cups so I tried it gently to pick it up with out bending it or put unnecessary pressure.. it Crack on the corner then I kick it to pieces in frustration... but the tutorial was spot on ! Thanks

Thank you so much for this tutorial!! My boyfriend and I were able to fix a 50-inch that my brother-in-law was about to get rid of for just over $30! You explained everything so well, and being able to see what you were doing as I was doing it too helped immensely. Much love!!

Thank you for this tutorial! I picked up this exact 55-inch from my local goodwill for 50 dollars with the mindset of, "it's this cheap for a reason, but whatever is broken I'll try fixing." Sure enough, the left led strip actually burned out (left some burn marks on the plastic layers of the screen). At first, I put the wrong led strip on (two came in the replacement kit) I think one is specifically for the left side, and the other for the right. But after I fixed that it worked gracefully! Thank you again for this tutorial and it is so surreal how a TV doesn't use any screws for its assembly.

In what can only be described as a shocking turn of events, I followed this video and only it only went and bloody worked! I was 200% sure I would mess up somewhere but the TV is right as rain! My friend, thank you.

Thanks! Your thorough explanation and video helped me to fix my 70" Sharp TV. I was researching large TV's to buy and I saw this video. Found a loose ribbon cable connector on the backlights. It wouldn't stay closed so I found some appropriate plastic to keep it tight. You saved me from a possible argument with my wife if I bought an expensive TV too!

Here's a tip. Get a bag of thin guitar picks. With the panel facing down pull the bezel clip back and slip a guitar pick in there so it won't re-clip. Do this all the way around except the bottom. Also undo your lower driver boards from their holders and then take a small piece of painters tape to hold them down. Then carefully turn your panel over and take small boxes to put under the chassis to hold it up away from the table. Pull the bottom of the bezel out first and unclip those clips and then the rest of the bezel will just come up as the guitar picks fall out. You won't have to lay on the floor like a Big Dog. To get the strips off easier score the backside with a utility knife and that will cut the adhesive and they will come off easier and you won't need to bend those clips back. I like to use blue painters tape on all four corners of the diffusers to keep them straight and in order. The edge lit Samsung's are a pain in the ass. The heat from the led's can crack or melt the Samsung

The white spots the TV had bleeding through like the lines in bottom middle does that go away or is that a totally different problem cause I got that and dark right side

You did a great job showing how to fix the issue. You explained every step and how to be careful. Many others don't show/explain. If I was adventurous and had another tv I'd follow your video to fix mine. But it looks like a purchase for me....and it WON"T ever again be a Samsung!

Wow you are a master. My Samsung has a bad left speaker just puts out static. I set the balance to right side and I got sound. My back cover looks just like the one in this video and I wondered how it is attached. I was afraid it was attached just like it is from your video. This style TV looks like a magnum pain in the ass just to get the cover off.
Kudos for sticking with it and getting it back together and working.

Mission accomplished thanks to you sir! A 50" smart TV for about $30(replacement LEDs, like the tutorial). Your video broke it down Barney style. *Bleep the haters man. Stay well🤙🏽

Thought I did it correctly. Ended up messing up so many times and flipping the tv over that I cracked the main black screen in several places. Really should’ve just given it to guys like you. I’m never buying a Samsung tv ever in my life again. Great video though.

Hey man, I'd just like to says thanks for this video. My 2 year old QN43Q60 Samsung TV went half dark & I was able to replace the faulty LED strip rather than throw it away & have to buy a new one. Keep it up, brother!
