Purplecliffe Misses his First Shiny in Pokemon Violet

To be fair to jack, it’s understandable as to why he would miss it, for the last year we’ve been used to hearing the shiny sparkes everytime we find one, so if your looking away from it and you don’t hear the sound you would never know it’s shiny, that’s why I hate this change because it completely nerfs shiny hunting

Honestly I'm playing through this game constantly paranoid that I'm missing shinies. Since they removed shiny sparkles and sounds in the overworld, there's no indicator that a shiny spawned to your sides or behind you. Most of us don't have a live chat to yell at us either and I don't want to play through the game super slowly just to try to find more shinies. They really need to add back the shiny sparkles and sound if they want to have overworld shinies.

It's so easy to run away from shinies in this game. I've probably zoomed past a dozen just riding koraidon. We have been so used to hearing the shiny sound and seeing the sparkles in the overworld in Arceus. Idk why they got rid of it, it was a fantastic feature.

In Jack's defense, he didn't run away from it in the traditional sense. Still, its unfortunate for anyone to miss/fail a Shiny

Literally had the same thing happen to me with a wooper.

Only I saw it and thought, "huh. That's neat that they put both variants in the same game"

Got my first shiny today and I almost had to fail the encounter.
I knew I ran out of pokeballs because I had just recently used the last one to get a pichu. That was until I noticed two mystery pokeballs practically near me, so I saved the game and took the chance to click on them both, and low-and-behold, two pokeballs :D
Let’s just say I successfully caught my first shiny ;)
It was a scatterbug btw.

I almost missed a Shiny Rolycoly due to there not being a noise anymore. But there were other Rolycoly around it so I saw that it actually was shiny. Can’t blame Jack for missing it.

The shiny sparkles should be added back for Pokémon like Garchomp at the very least. Where they barely look different. The sound staying out could be fine if there was some constant visual affect that just shined around them. But there needs to be something. I thought I was hallucinating when I saw my shiny shinx which is a bright yellow. I had to walk over and get a closer look before I actually believed it was a Pokémon, and was in fact shiny.

In a new patch they gotta add the shiny sound back. I almost missed two shinies simply cuz I didn't hear the sound. It was that I was like "hold up, is that different..?" that I didn't miss them. But for all I know I missed other shinies already running around on Koraidon.

Not to rub salt into the wound but I caught that shiny last night and named it Piglet, and I think that was the first shiny I ever caught

This unfortunately happened to me, I was training up against a buncha ice types when I found a weirdly colored cetoddle and I started battling it cause I though it was a shiny, I concluded that it only looked that way because of the sunset lighting because I didn’t see the sparkles. I then started looking into it and figured out It was a shiny and ever since then I’ve been checking every Pokémon I find to see if it’s a shiny or not

I personally hoped that they could add the sparkles back in for overworld shinnies if they are not going to have a sound (Like in Let's Go). Some pokemon are very small and the grass could totally conceal them. It gives me a great deal of paranoia when I am passing through areas with a lot of grass.

I hope they release an update where it adds the shiny sound back in. There so much happening it would be easy to not notice one if your not looking for it
