👾 Alien: Romulus

Director Fede Alvarez's upcoming Alien film has received an official title: Alien: Romulus. While previously used as a working title, the adoption of "Romulus" aligns with the franchise's tradition of drawing from religious and mythological themes.

Disney CEO Bob Iger unveiled the official title during the company's Q1 earnings call. Penned and directed by Uruguayan horror maestro Fede Alvarez, renowned for works like Don't Breathe and the 2013 Evil Dead, the film concept was enthusiastically embraced by 20th Century, making it a top priority for production.

Set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), Alien: Romulus delves into the narrative: "Young people from a distant world must confront the most fearsome life form in the universe."

The cast of Romulus features Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, Aileen Wu, Spike Fearn, David Jonsson, and Archie Renaux. Positioned as the seventh installment in the primary Alien series, the film stands independent of the Alien TV series currently underway at FX, under the guidance of Noah Hawley. Delays attributed to last year's industry strikes suggest the series won't debut until next year.

Alien: Romulus is slated for theatrical release on August 16, a shift from its original Hulu release plan.

It feels like a fan/student project with people who are not professional actors 😳

That audio sounded like it was ripped from a middle school production class project.

The amount of people here not realising this is an AI generated Fan Trailer really shocks me.

So judging by the video description, this is not the actual trailer, but imagined and created/edited? Was AI used? Asking truthfully outta curiosity.

Either the script is subpar, or the actors are. That was some cringe

This is not Alien Romulus trailer, these are scenes from Alien 40th Anniversary short films. But nice try.

Couple of those scenes with the aliens are from older alien films like 3 and resurrection

They should have a xenomorph breathing heavily into a phone with a girl on the other end "Hello, hello? Ok Dallas this isn't funny!"

This looks like it should have came out in the early 2000's with all the slasher films like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Can't believe R Scott is letting someone butcher his franchise like this 🤮
