Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10 First Look & Review

The 4-channel DDJ-FLX10 for rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro includes a host of brand-new features that enables new creative possibilities, including functions DJs can use to easily perform mashups on the fly with no need to prepare tracks in advance.

Thanks to the controller’s new Track Separation technology, DJs can easily load tracks from their music library to the DDJ-FLX10 and manipulate different musical parts to create infinitely unique performances including live mashups. The controller focuses on the 3 track elements that are crucial to DJing – vocals, drums, and inst (other instruments) – so DJs can easily play around with each one.

DJs can reference important information and customize the look of the controller, thanks to the expanded On Jog Display. Improving on the jogs from the popular DDJ-1000, there are 4 On Jog Display modes to choose from, giving DJs the option to display different types of waveform information.

The DDJ-FLX10 introduces Mix Point Link, a new rekordbox-compatible feature that enables the user to neatly and seamlessly link the playback of tracks in their set while freeing up their hands to help foster creativity.

Really competitive price point. Pioneer were very deliberate with this one and they're going to sell a lot of these. Same price as the 1000 with a crap ton of new features...yeah, this'll do well.

Thanks for the review! so creative, and I really like the way you reviewed it. It was entertaining and informative.
-I literally just got a DDJ 1000, and then all these videos about the FLX10 pop up. I'm not sold just yet on the FLX10, but I think it's a much better upgrade for anyone who is using the DDJ 400 or FLX4. Skip the FLX6 altogether if you want to upgrade.
-For those who got the cash to burn for the extra buttons and features they might not use, go for it! 1000/SRT to FLX10 is slightly forward but still a lateral move. I don't think a lot of people will jump on the FLX train right away.

The stache on the Serato guy was beautiful! The Bass stem in Serato is the one I use the most besides Acapella and Instrumental ones. I love just being able to swap the baselines instead of using the EQ which then effects the vocals.

First off, that intro got me in tears! I just got a FLX-6 white in January that works amazing so I'm not in the market for this but loved the review. I also was strictly Serato but after I started messing with the Rekordbox interface, I couldn't go back. Keep up the great work 💪🏽
