Oh hell no 👎 I've been a developer for decades. I learned Jave in college. I teach programming. I would NEVER tell my students to learn Java. It's going the way of the dinosaurs. Yes, Android still uses it but Google is moving towards Dart/Flutter. Sure if have spare time. But "IF YOU WANT A JOB THEN YES LEARN JAVA" is total BS!!!

The Android ecosystem is transitioning from Java to Kotlin and many companies have migrated already. Same goes for their enterprise frameworks like spring boot, which can now be written in Kotlin.

And I think you yourself answered the part regarding the use of Java in games. You can surely learn Java, but there are much easier and better languages that will help you in reaching your goals quicker.
