Thanks for the tips and lessons I’m 72 and my wife is 70 and we’re not stopping till we’re foiling!

Bonus tips from a total beginner:
1. Enough steady wind, 15knots+. I spent my first two sessions absolutely destroying my legs going from kneeling to standing with no support from the wing. Imagine spending three hours doing squats at the gym. Pain. And then once standing, it's incredibly hard to balance when the wing is giving you nothing. Effort to reward ratio - very, very low.
2. Wear some protection. I got a gash in my heel my first session that had me out of the water for a week. It's totally freaking me out watching Kelly fall right next to the foil with bare legs and feet.
3. Ignore all those articles that say wingfoiling is easy. It's absolutely not. Enjoy being outside, enjoy being in the water and enjoy the workout, and let the foiling come when it comes.

Thanks for all these awesome lessons! I live in Hood River, Or on the Columbia Gorge..windsport Mecca! I used to windsurf but got tired of so much gear and rigging🤦🏻‍♀️ The wing/foil is such a great new, low maintenance sport! There’s literally 10 of us girls learning now! So your channel helps a ton! Ha! I’ve done every mistake..but getting there..I’m starting on too small of a foil, so trying a bigger one tomorrow..can’t wait to get over to Hawaii to try it too! 👊🏼🤩

In windsurfing, that stance is known as “the 7 position.” Arms extended, shoulders back, legs and back strong and extended but not completely locked. You need some flexibility to absorb chop, which won’t be so much an issue with foiling

I have a Robby Naish wing and board. Maybe too small I don’t know. Gonne try it tomorrow for the first time. Thanks for the tips

Well, thanks to good souls like yourself I know I put together the right kit. Floaty big board, 2400 foil, 5.5 wing - Go Noob, go! I'll have my work cut out for me on my inland lake, but I did my homework. Thanks Professor Damien!
PS: I am putting a SUP Winder on the board you see in my picture, and my progression will be three steps: Beach wing, SUP wing and THEN wing foil.

I like your videos, maybe it's because of different winging locations but what I have not seen is the upwind superiority of being on your knees, you know to reduce and or eliminate the walk of shame.
In my location if I go on my knees on my weak side instead of standing I can make it back to where Iaunched, especially if the wind is fluky...
You guys probably have perfect wind every session 😍

Damien, 100 percent agree with your living philosophy. Tried my first wind foiling yesterday with 5 knot wind in Hong Kong. Very painful start but it is a very rewarding moment when I managed to taxi a bit with a 8 meter wing. Probably too big for a beginner. Tim

Next week I'm going to Florida. I hope I can put into practice all that you have taught. And I hope I don't get to Mexico

Tks for share all tips. Wing is not easy, but when you understand every thing, should be. Take your time to learn and have fun. @Damien topics for your next videos:
- how to setup the right position your mast into to the board?
- how be faster into downwind (for riders experienced). I have been using harness (wing duotone Echo) and the downwind is wonderful faster.

Pretty good one. Dipping the wing tip is a tricky problem with bigger wings.
