It is so painful that she was not found. What is even more painful is that this is the reality for some people. Some people’s final resting places are not peaceful and happy places at all.

I remember being a teen and reading this book and just feeling like. An ungodly amount of fear and sadness and dread and anger. I hate how this is a thing people have to be afraid of.

There’s a huge symbolism in this scene, especially for those who are not content with the fact that Susie’s body wa s ever found. In the beginning of the movie, when her family pushed the fridge down the pit, Susie said something like “it was such a relief to let something so heavy go.” This was symbolic to her body being thrown down the pit. It was for her family to relent her and not let their pain diverge them apart. The lively bones were referring to her family, not her physical body. I’m not making light of her death, but that’s the symbol I saw

My fiancé died last year and I was so afraid he’d be angry with me if moved on and fell in love with someone else. I was afraid he was mad at me for all those little arguments we had. A friend of mine who i hadn’t spoken to in years had a dream about him. In the dream he had a message for me.
“I love you so much. I’m okay now. Be happy without me” he’s wishing me a long happy life. I will indeed live one because I know he will be waiting for me.

The fact her body was dumped in a sink hole, breaks my fucking heart.
My mother always told me this was a true story. I never understood what she meant until I was older.
That things like this, happen all the time. Protect your children.
Men like Mr. Harvey, and woman too, are out there. So are precious little Susie Salmons. Protect them at all costs.

"I was here for a moment, and then I was gone."

That line always gets me. Saoirse's delivery of that line especially..

That scene where Susie's mom ugly cries after knowing she was murdered breaks my heart because that's the grief she'll always feel for never fully knowing what happened to Susie.

I think you have to read the book to really understand why she possessed Ruth. In the book she says that she was angry that her sister got to have her first kiss her first love and that those things were taken from her forcefully. In the end she possessed Ruth to have her that kiss that had been waiting for her and to make love. That was something she wanted to remember from Earth. She didn’t stop Mr. Harvey because the whole movie she seemed to struggle with vengeance and anger towards him but many years had passed from her death to her the time that is showed in that scene. This was the last thing she wanted to do before leaving the in-between and going into what I think was supposed to be her heaven.

My heart just can’t with the fact that so many girls and womens’ bodies end up discomposing in garbage, after had being assaulted, raped, taken apart from their families and murdered in the cruelest ways.
Rest In Peace all the Susie Salmons that they’re still out there.

What always gets me is how sad she gets when her younger sister starts living a life she wanted to experience

I wish that when he was dumping that safe in the sinkhole it would've somehow came open & the guy seen that he was actually helping him dispose of a dead body instead
