This was such a popular look for those of us that went to high school in the early to mid 00's. I went to high school from 07 to 2011, literally every girl I knew was wearing emo eyeliner, frosty gold lipstick/ gloss, and crap tons of bronzer, and everrrryyyybody straightened their hair! Ahhh memories. I didn't know anything about face powder, primer, falsies, contouring, makeup brushes. I layered on that foundation and eyeliner. I was such a hot mess. High school girls are so lucky that Youtube has blown up as much as it has. It wasn't really a thing when I was younger.

Jaclyn I want to thank you. I've been a fan of yours for quite some time now, but lately you've done more for me than I can ever tell you. 2 months and 3 days ago I lost my daughter, Vivianne, to stillbirth. I was full-term in my pregnancy and was going in to be induced. At some point during the few hours before the induction my placenta detached and we lost her. I then went through 15 hours of labor to deliver her after finding out she had passed. Your videos have brought a heartbroken mama some laughter, inspiration, and peace during such a devastating and terrible time. Please know that your positive light is helping someone in great need. Brows weren't really a thing when I was in HS (I graduated 7 years ago). I don't know anyone who did their brows (as in using a pencil, pomade, powder, etc).

This cracked me up. If I had to do my makeup like I did "in high school, " I'd either wear nothing or probably have my cousin do it for me.

Ok, when I was younger, I didn't think eyeshadow belonged anywhere but the lid. As in, I'd get frustrated when it would get up into my crease. I'd use glittery pink on the lid only. I hated bold colors. Everything was "natural." I hated liquid foundation and preferred powder (an idea that makes me shriek in terror now.) I wouldn't do eyeliner because I didn't think I could do it myself, and when anyone else did it, my eyes would water so bad, and I'd blink. I hated it. I liked mascara. I didn't really do lipstick, just gloss. Blush was a straight line across the apples of my cheeks...

I didn't bronze until recently lmao. I didn't prime or know to do it... and all my makeup was drugstore brand, and most likely any surviving makeup that my mom wore in the 80s. Now THAT is scary!
