How To Play More in Tune | Ear Training, Tuning Systems & Mind-Body Connection
Показать описание
With many tuning systems, there is no such thing as absolutely perfect intonation. To play the most in tune we can on the violin (or any other unfretted stringed instrument) requires a combination of stellar sense of relative pitch combined with deliberate, active listening and a reliable instrument setup and left hand technique foundation. This combination of ear training and physical technique is the mind-body connection (or ear - finger connection, if that makes more sense to you) that allows us to play in tune consistently.
In this video I demonstrate how to practice intonation of the beginning of Bach's Allemande from the d minor Partita by using the internal aural skills. Also a brief introduction to distinguish 'pythagorean tuning' system from 'just intonation' system, and why using a drone isn't always a great helper for playing in tune.
