Setup a HomeLab Using Laptops, Mini PC's and Desktops [Using Virtualization Tech]

So I aquired a bunch of old computers and experimented with getting VMware #esxi installed across all of them.
Results varied, with some computers not able to install #esxi, others we needed to play with different version of #esxi from v8, v7 and v6.

This is so wonderfully whacked! I thought I was the only person in the world who walked around wondering if... whatever... would run ESXi. Laptops, SteamDecks, Tiny/Mini/Micro machines (I have nine of them all running ESXi), dishwashers, stoves, clothes dryers (not really). Fun stuff, if only as a personal challenge and learning experience.

great mate, i have old dell server R610 and HP DL360 G5 and G7, will try different version of esxi, i used to install 6. and 6.5 in the past.
have you get a chance to join them to vcenter 8? any challenges ?

dude a server is defined by it's role not it's hardware
