Does shaft matter 🏌🏼‍♂️

I bought my driver 2nd hand from an old guy and it had a very whippy shaft and all my drives that season would blow up super high. I changed the shaft this season to a stiffer one and I legit gained like 30 yards with the exact same swing just based on ball flight.

Shaft weight, torque, and kick point specs are super important with hybrids and fairway woods.

To be honest a good golfer with a perfect golf swing could hit both shots with the same shaft. I doubt tiger woods changed shafts when he want to hit a "stinger" with a 3 woods.

Just bought a stealth with stiff shaft after using g a regular flex the last 3 years. Couldn't hit one straight with the stiff shaft and switch and now it's good.

Maybe from a Xtra stiff to a senior shaft might make a difference. But in general they don't make a difference that will give you a bunch of shots of your score card or keep you in the fairway. You might get 10 extra yards here or there. But to the everyday golfer shooting 75. It's not going to make eye popping difference.

You need a bigger dataset than 2 shots. You can make that difference with the same shaft if you were either skilled enough to or inconsistent enough.

I’m my opinion the shaft is the most important part. Yeah you like the way a club looks. You like the grip but at the end of the day the shaft does most of the work

To the average golfer especially the irons it doesn’t really matter. The king of YouTube golf Rick shiels did a video on it between a regular and stiff shaft with his iron really had no difference. All the woods matter though.
