FILM DESCRIPTION:
As a transplant from Boston, teenager Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) gets a big dose of culture shock when he moves to a small Southern town called Bomont. A few years prior, a fatal accident involving five youths led local councilmen and a beloved clergyman (Dennis Quaid) to enact ordinances against loud music and dancing. Ren -- never one to toe the line -- challenges the ban, simultaneously revitalizing Bomont and falling in love with the clergyman's troubled daughter (Julianne Hough).

Kenny wormald KILLED this role. Kevin bacon of course is a legend but Kenny did a damn good job with this. And miles teller was just *chefs kiss* pure hilariarity in every scene.

What I loved about the 2011 version is they kept some elements from the original such as Ariel’s dress, Ren’s red suit jacket, the scene with the shoes

Never seen the remake. Actually looks good. I'll check it out. Usually remakes I think will ruin the classic but this is an exception.

That probably looks like a nightmare to try and direct, but I would imagine was pretty easy.

Very hard to remake a classic, but this was a strong effort. They didn't mess with the story and you can almost play it scene for scene next to the '84 version. Hell, it's practically a homage to the original. Bacon one is still better, but surprised how much I enjoyed this.
