Growing up, all I read was R.L. Stine, Christopher Pike, & the Scary Stories books; I knew I'd been drawn to your channel for a reason. 😜

Shrouded hand, I really enjoy your book videos even though you’ve only made a few, I’d love to see creepy or strange book reviews from you or book collection updates

The “Scary Stories” books have what I now consider amazing artwork. As a child, Christ, it was terrifying.

the goosebumps series were always good, and the tv show they had of goosebumps made it even more creepy.

Hey there, Shrouded Hand. I’m late to this party but I wanted to assure you, Point Horror books haven’t vanished! For the past few years, I’ve been collecting late 80’s to late 90’s YA horror novels and have had surprising success. Check your local used book sellers, thrift shops, flea markets and the like. It might take some digging but the books are out there, and usually quite inexpensive. A complete set of any series (Point Horror, Fear Street, etc) might be hard to pull off, but I’ve managed to find all my personal holy grails—I’m sure you can too. Best of luck reclaiming those literary snapshots of childhood!

I went to check on your channel because I hadn't thought you'd uploaded for a while, only to find YouTube hasn't sent me your last three videos. maybe I should just start checking every few days.
yet another great video. I remember a book from my childhood full of 30 second horror stories in them. some of the stuff in there was truly horrifying for the age I was.

I had nightmares too. It never stopped me from indulging in horror. :)  The art in these books is great. I remember most of them. I will have to look up the others. Thank you so much for this! Nifty!

I read point horror, RL Stine was my favourite author. I wish I'd kept mine too as they are highly collectible now.

That Monstrosities book - I read that in school back in 1994 or so and have been looking for it ever since - I could only remember the odd image and the last poem about the couch potato....

Thanks!

"Very Scary Almanac" by Eric Elfman. Is a great introduction for kids to the paranormal. It's probably dated as new discoveries occur.

That baby DEFINITELY caused the nightmares. IT WAS HER!

When I was about 9 in primary school, the teacher read to us from a picture book called Struwwelpeter. We were fucking terrified. I think that was the point.

Nice book collection! I agree the illustrations in some of them are very creepy and stylized. Also it's interesting to hear that you wanted to be an illustrator/cartoonist when you were younger. Just curious, do you ever draw as a hobby nowadays? I think it would be cool to see some art of yours for a video someday if you do.

They have the Point Horror books on Audible. I think “Trick or Treat” May have been my fav as a kid. Listening to it being read was kinda cool. So it’s not Pulitzer material but it brings back memories I thought I had forgotten.

Great video. We must be around the same age cause I remember a lot of these books and the films and TV shows on your other upload. I've always been a huge fan of horror and true crime but I think those poetry books in particular would have had a lasting effect on me. Couldn't see em getting published now lol
