So there’s no real theme in this video other than just appreciating India’s interesting geography and culture over the next 8 minutes. There are tons missing here, and some regions and topics received more attention than others. These bits of information are just things I’ve come across while learning about India, looking for more specific topics for videos on the country.

I blurred out some parts of the border on the red line map after posting because I’m an idiot and followed the undisputed border on Google Earth and then forgot to finish the map. Unfortunately that’s the most I could do as far as fixing it after posting. I didn’t mean to come across as biased or disrespectful in anyway. Just dropped the ball on that one.

Himalaya is a Sanskrit word. "Him" means snow and "Alay" means home. Himalayas means Abode of Snow.

One of the coolest places I've been to in India is The Western Ghats, its one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet.

I find it interesting that you find animals common to Europe and Africa all in India

India is so big and diverse that if you go from one state to another, you feel like you are in another country.

India has alot of potential. They do have their problems, but I think they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Great video, India is an amazing country with a very ancient and rich history. If this video were five hours long, so much would still be missed. I would really enjoy more videos on the country, the temples, break down of different cultures and languages within India, but I am not sure where your channels content boundaries are. Cheers!!

You missed Brahmaputra river, the widest river in India with widest stretch about 18 to 20 kilometres.

A small correction, it's not Adam's Bridge, it's Ram Setu (or Ram's Bridge)

As a person studying master's in geography in India, i can assure you that this is a very good attempt to sum up the geographical and social life in India however it hasn't even touched a percent of India's geography, i can assure you that!

At 8:43 it is not "Adam's Bridge" but "Rama Setu". The British renamed it as Adam's Bridge, but that is not its original name.

8:51 bridge is called " ram sethu" not Adam's bridge. English named in Adam's bridge because they couldn't twist their tongue to say RAAM SETHU

Correction: The narrow lane connecting India and Sri Lanka is called "Ram Setu" which literally translates to "Bridge of Ram". It's said that a king named Ram built it from India to Sri Lanka to save his wife Sita who was kidnapped by another evil king called Ravan. Archaeologists recently have found that the bridge isn't completely natural but man made.

One correction, that land bridge connecting India and Srilanka is called Ram Setu not adams bridge, you can't just rename it to what suits your beliefs.
