Be sure you don’t overload your panel first!
It only takes a minute to modify your tandem breaker to make it fits. Tandem breaker has shorter opening where it sits onto the bus bar. Simply take your knife and carve off the plastic molding about 1/4in. Just use your standard breaker as reference. It is very simple! Hope it helps

In your experience and knowledge, . Does QO series, have tandem breakers, that will fit in main service panels, that do not have the extra slot ? Or did I answer my own question, in that, if there is no slot, do not put ANY tandem type breakers? Thanx in advance.

To resolve this issue, don’t buy square d panels. Buy an Eaton or GE panel, they are more versatile and allow you to install tandem or slim breakers anywhere on the bus.

I need to be able to see if it is tandem compatible with all the breakers installed.

I have a homeline 30 space 200 AMP load center that was just installed in our brand new home, where do I find the "model #" for this loadcenter? I suspect it's a 30-60 model but I'd like to be sure. I only see the model number of the cover and the two stickers inside only give me the box model #. Where am I suppose to be looking?
