The explanation of "dual" was perfect. I also assumed it was AFCI and GFCI. Now I know i need a dual function breaker. Saved me a bunch of time and expense. Thanks!!

Great explanation of the plug-on feature. I bought an HOM combination plug-on breaker, but took it back because I thought it was the QO type in the wrong package. I wish that I had watched your video first.

Exactly what I was looking for. Was confused about combination and dual function. I had actually ordered the wrong ones, thanks for the clarification

Another great explaination. Note on older homes, have fun with the shared nuetrals when adding an Arc Fault breaker.

Love the video! On the SqD breakers, remember CAFI = white, GFI = yellow, Dual (CAFI+GFI) = purple. Of course, this is manufacturer specific.

Do you know when the QO PON GFIs are coming out? There's a part number, QO120PGFI, and heard they are new for this year. However, I'm told they still aren't available.

I have taken to typically wiring PON breakers before plugging them in the panel. It goes easier/faster to confirm the wire is fully in and well seated. It doesn't matter much for your blank dead panel here, but crowded live ones are a different matter. Of course, make sure breaker is OFF when putting it in the panel.

Not sure why, but I used to have occasional problems with the PON breakers stripping the wire clamp head with both a robertson or a slotted bit while torqueing. However, since going to an ECX bit, life is fantastic there.

Great video as always . Very informative on the difference between CAFI breaker and combination AFCI / GFCI .

Thank you for this video. Which Square D Homeline Panel would be suitable to replace an old Stab-Lok Circuit Panel with 125 amp max rating 24 spaces for breakers? Can you provide a link? The Square D Homeline Panel provided by your link is rated 225 amp is over-rated for my situation.

All the120v breakers in our new house are dual purpose afci/GFCI in the livable space. Even the refrigerator, microwave, and washer are. it's been a year and we have had no phantom trips

Found it interesting. It appears you added the ground bar or is this a sub panel?

How timely! I needed one of these yesterday (well, I wanted the combo one), and it seems Home Depot doesn’t have any. Fortunately Amazon did, and they should be here today.

So if you don't tighten it to spec exactly it will not work like the one I just spent 65.00 bucks on?

Excellent video, Bill. At a glance you can tell if a breaker is a GFCI if it has a Test/Reset button. This is true with all of the dual purpose breakers I have used in the past. I say "at a glance" because to your point when it comes down to it, you should know what you are installing as if your life depends on it. Keep me coming, Sparky! (Check your Yahoo! Mail)
