M3 Pro or M2 Max What's the Best Choice for Heavy Users?

After 250 days with the MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip, here’s my review and why I think this laptop is aging well and it could make a great alternative to the new MacBook M4. The M3 Pro could currently be the sweet spot between performance and price for MacBooks and I think it’s a great pick if you’re looking for a laptop that’ll serve you well for the next 5+ years!

I've had my M3 Pro MBP 14" with 18GB RAM and 512GB since May 13th of this year. It's my first Mac ever and I'm HIGHLY impressed. Gaming is still a bit of a soft spot in it, but for everyday use I'm just blown away.

I literally just bought one of these two weeks ago after having one too many issues with my 2020 Intel MacBook Pro, and WOW!!! That battery life! No fan noise every time I do something. The speed! It's been an awesome upgrade.
Plus, the design is so nice. I'm breaking out of my routine and not even going to put it in a case lol.

I think the biggest factor in favor of the M3 Pro MacBook is that you're virtually guaranted to get a few extra years of OS updates and general longevity out of the device. Considering who usually buys these, having a few more years of not feeling like your device is outdated is worth the price premium and versus the M3 Max, the Pro is absolutely the sweet spot and I don't know how the M4 will drastically improve on this?

Hi Andrew! Awesome review. I have the M2Pro 14" it's 370 days old now and wow, it's absolutely perfection. Insane display, beautiful 6 speaker system - voices sound as though they are coming from the display :) and 2 day battery life. It's perfect. Best Mac Apple have ever released. I can't fault it in any way and I've been using Macs since 1995! It's insanely perfect!

Got the same, but in silver and 36gb ram. It´s amazing now and will stay that way for at least 5-6 years.

I have a 2021 Macbook M1 Pro and am surprised at how new it performs still. Sure the battery has died down a little but it's still been incredible. The battery health level is 91% compared to when it was new out the box. That's very impressive for heavy use over 3 years.

I’m a video editor, owner of the M3 Max 16 inch. What a beast. Never gets hot because of the bigger size. I hope to keep using this macbook for at least 2-3 years as my daily driver

Dude my 2012 non-retina MacBook pro still runs like a charm for daily computing such as email and light design. I'll still use it till 2030
