Fun fact, I've personally worked on a prius with 500, 000 miles on it, original hybrid batteries. Everything still worked fine. My 06 Toyota Hilander hybrid has 200, 000 on it and no check engine lights, original hybrid batteries. It's lithium ion batteries. As long as you use them and exercise them it's greatly extends their life.

Reminder that even if you lose some battery capacity over the years, the hybrid system will still work because you don’t need the entire capacity of the battery to operate in Hybrid mode. Sure, your fuel economy will decline, but it’ll almost always be better than driving a car without a battery in the first place.

Ford had a 15 yrs. warranty on the PZEV Focus emissions. My mani-cat was damaged due to a misfire from one coil being bad. Ford could not prove I damaged the cat so they had to replace it. It was like $1200 in parts. Bolts directly to engine so can't steal either. I paid ZERO dollars.

A dead battery in an electric vehicle is just about as bad as a dead transmission or a dead engine in a conventional car. They don't last forever, but they usually last longer than CVTs or DCTS.

I have 2008 toyota camry hybrid. My battery went bad around 160, 000 miles. Toyota wanted $4900 I went through green bean battery for about $1900. I got a 3 year warranty and they come to you if you have any issues. This was about 3 years ago. Now they offer unlimited hybrid battery repair.

I bought mine for $1700 with a weak battery. Bought a $250 grid charger. Good as new, and I got the charger if it ever gets weak again.

I bought a brand new 2024 Toyota Corolla with 2 miles on it back on 8/20. I also rent cars from Lyft to work Lyft. They have EV and Hybrid cars. Matter of fact they are swapping me out tomorrow with my current car which is a 2023 Toyota Prius.

Toyota just invented a new NMH battery that is hardly affected by heat/cold and it is used in the new Crown. Toyota knows what they are doing.

I got a 2010 Prius with 31, 000 miles on it in 2020 for $0, as my mother moved into assisted living. 49, 000 miles, runs like a clock and has freezing cold AC.
