People have an expected weight and an optimum weight. Expected weight is the weight you would think someone would be down to their height and the optimum weight is how heavy someone needs to be to perform the activities they do at their most efficient level. This section is going to tell you about how weight both over and under can affect a persons performance.
Overweight and Overfat
Some people who are overweight are not actually fat but carrying too much muscle. There is a real difference between overweight and overfat. Overweight just meansweighing more than is normal whereas overfat means your body composition consists of too much fat.
Being overfat can be caused by a few contributing factors such as over-eating and lack of exercise. This can put an immense strain on the bodies systems like the heart and limits the bodies ability to do activities.
Although being fat usually stops you being able to perform at the height of your ability there are a few occasions where it actually proves helpful such as sumo wrestlers!
