The difference for me (with AMP vs. without) is that if I tried to count skips without it, it was a distraction from the workout itself. AMP does it automatically, so there's no distraction, and the streak count, power score, jump count/etc. cause me to chase higher levels of intensity.

Consistency and duration is the 1st, priority, (fitness is a marathon not a sprint). Intensity 2nd. You don’t need an app tell you that you are giving max effort. Your body will definitely let you know. Skip count is the last priority for the purpose of exercise if it is at all. Each iteration of Crossrope has been better than the last and makes using them more enjoyable. I will get the AMP handles knowing full well that I don’t need them to get a great jump rope workout. I can do that w/ a cut length of Whitmor Plastic Clothesline 100 Foot White 100FT for $10. I love using my Crossropes which means I have a some sort of psychological need/enjoyment/ dependency to keep using them.

Use music instead. Start with one song, then two. Work your way to a full album.

When I started in 2010 sure I would count my steps when I was learning. But now 13 years later there is no reason as long as I am getting the work in counting steps doesn’t matter. Putting the work and discipline in will prevail no matter what.

JRD as always your work keeps me going as I train for running events.

i find counting more practical. it's easier than listening for alarm or looking at clock.

but i am following your advice on keeping it intense - which means currently for me 20 seconds amounts to 45-50 jumps (when i go tabata).

I usually set a timer rather than the amount of skips because obviously you will vary the types of skipping in the workout.

hey i appreciate the amp technology and the facility it provides but i am using my galaxy watch for tracking my skips and yeah counting the skips are a distraction and also it obstructs the breathing so yeah i hated counting but now with the help of watch that work is done by the watch. and yeah i do 3000 jumps in 40 mins i hope thats a good figure. MUCH LOVE JRD❤

I tried doing 2500 jumps while counting and i did it for 4 days but just because of trying to catch up to the number next day i started to get bored before reaching the goal of 2500 and it disturbed my habit and jumping felt boring....so i think just look at the time instead....and the intensity of your workout ....take rest when your body tells you to....

I count my skips. Thats how i know how fast i go by comparing the number of skips i do per minute. 🤣🤣 but my crossropes are so old now I should probably change the handles soon.

I lost count many times while trying to break my PR of 2510 jumps, so I decided to start counting again from the nearest 100. I believe I may have missed counting at least 200 more jumps😂

when I started jumping rope, years ago and now I'm experienced, but haven;t done it yet becuase I haven't had time. I tried counting my skips but I realized that I didn't need to do that becuase I really don't need to count when I'm jumping.
