#PleinAirpril Day 25 - Gouache Low Tide ✶ #shorts

Today did not go as expected. I had to drive over an hour to Inverness for an emergency root canal (first of two sessions). Before going home I stopped at the pier to paint the firth. Yup. With a numb face. I used to live a few minute from this spot and I ALWAYS go there if I visit Inverness. It worked out because I wanted to let the numbness fade a little before driving home. So anyways, enjoy this low tide gouache paint session. #gouache #pleinair

That little house is so sweet, dwarfed by its natural surroundings.

Another fantastic mini painting!! Each one you paint is so unique….I learn a little something from every one. The birds are a great touch! Many thanks!❤️

Foggy overcast days by the coast are some of my favourites. So moody! I hope your face is feeling better soon

This is so beautiful! It’s amazing how you make such a small painting with a relatively big brush.

Oh my, what a collection you will have when you finish this month of painting. They will be such a joy to look back on. And this one is so dreamy. Love this.

Sarah, I hope that your mouth isn't feeling too bruised this evening? A gentle hug!

This is is absolutely beautiful, and I agree with Geraldine Conway - I think that this is my favourite so far (though I have the previous three still to watch).

Not only is it beautiful, but it's a classic lesson in the use of a flat brush for the whole painting - even one as small as this (about 3" / 7.5 cms?), and such a delicate touch for those tiny birds!

Thank you!

I love this! I sure would love it if you made a longer video of you painting one of these. I am curious how long it takes you to do one... how long do you have to wait for things to dry before you can move on to the next step...
