I had a lot of fun doing this interview with Bob back in 1981 . Shortly after this interview I received a call from Kathy McCormack Durst, a friend of 20 years . She asked me to come to New York as her husband ...Robert Durst had changed, and became abusive...I was just ready to move her out of NYC in late December ....She disappeared shortly after that....So now you know what else was going on in my life around this time....

Just relocated back to De. And miss the balloon. So many memorys, joe walsh, steppenwolf, white underbelly( Blue oyster cult) and Metallica!!, and of course George and destroyers.I remember seeing the Guess Who there and as we left there was a guy who didnt know how to get to the travel lodge on mainstreet so we gave him a ride. Turned out he was keyboard player for the Guess Who. He invited me and my female friend up to meet the band! Sat with the drummer Peterson most of night hearing life storys, his and ours. He was so down to earth. He gave me his home number in Canada, which i never used, but that night, thanks to the stone balloon, made an impact on our lives for years to come. Thank you so much.

When I ran for mayor of Newark (George Wolkind) in 1973, I was handed a tel. bill by the U of D for 80.00 dollars. My secretary told me that he had called the Stones to get them to do a benefit for my campaign. He told me that Jagger was all for doing it but they had scheduled a tour of Europe and could not do it this time....

There has to be much more to the start up story of the Stone Balloon. That would cover all the logistics of starting such a business and especially with were did the start up capital come from?

The Stone Balloon was a twenty something pick up bar with live music and excessive alcohol consumption!
