That big fish strolled by looking like a huge shark 😂

I heard on a other channel or somewhere else that plants that grow above the water absorb more nitrates then plants that grow in the water. Could that be true and if so, could add some potted plants.

I believe in and employ refugiums. They are great and you can keep your heater in there so it is safer for the fish to not get burned by coming in contact with them. <•))))~{

3 to 5 times feeding is just too much. U don't need that much feeding.
I guess that is why your nitrates spike at the end of the week.

I have commented this before... but your tanks are amazing!

Algae is good. Get some shrimp to manage it.

Algae is naturally occurring, a fish tank is trying to replicate that ecosystem. Eliminating all algae because you want your tank to look nice isn’t feasible imo and a complete waste of time. I have a naturally reproducing tank of cichlid yellow labs and I never once cleaned the back of the tank or vacuumed the substrate. I clean the front and the sides and thats it. I have nerite snails that clean the rocks for me and the fry have all the free food they could ever want as well. I have an auto feeder on twice a day that puts out at 8 am and 8pm . I feed a mix of northfin veggie and cichlid pellets and supplement with repashy a couple times a week. My 90 gallon tank has 50 cichlids in it ranging from fry to 5-6 inchers. I never use chemicals to remove chlorine because use RO water and mix it to 400ppm with salts and buffer it to 7.9ph. The water is consistently the same and I only change out 40 gallons of water once a week. I dont have algae problems or ever worry about my tank. The nitrates are around the 10-20 range All the time.

I have a hobby, not a job. The amount of money spent and the constant messing around with these tanks makes me smh. Leave that shit alone and let it mature to a natural state slowly. The fish will be fine and you can have a hobby again instead of a job.

Anyone who watches these videos that is contemplating getting into the hobby has to have second thoughts because all I see is constant work and doing things you really dont need to do and not to mention the amount of money spent on the “not needed” things could be better put to use enjoying life because the fish dont care.

My hobby tank has crystal clear water, gorgeous, healthy thriving, and naturally reproducing African cichlids that I spend a total of 60 minutes a week maintaining.

Anyone can replicate what I do with the exact same results . Fish keeping isn’t rocket science and it isn’t dumping expensive chemicals into the tank along with a full-time job amount of time either.
