I’m always afraid to use the metal scrapers.

nice scraping! i also saw someone recommending to put some ping pong balls (filled halfway with water) in your tanks for your fish to play with! they're kinda bare so it might help to give them something to do

The magnet ones have always been my favorite things. I remember sitting there playing with it on my neighbors fish tank for hours bc I liked dragging it around

Ahhh so clean 😊
My concern with magnetic ones is magnetic attraction and the material used to scrape.
I found that it was prone to cause scratching on the glass with what I consider to describe as the microvelcro type 😅

As a kid, I used to clean my late father's aquarium with the magnetic one in early 2000. He used to be so proud that I clean his aquarium without him asking me to do it. Now, I'm in tears remembering those moments. 😭 Having an aquarium with fish can help you bond with your children. And also teaches them the meaning of life, natural food chain and taught them to be grateful for whatever meat you eat.

Luke has made his fish sad this day... They liked eating his arm hair (╯︵╰, ) Never again shall they taste blood

I used to have so much fun using the magnetic scraper as a kid. So from personal experience I also recommend It for coming with the bonus of getting your kids to be invested in the fish and health of the tank.

They have different uses, the one with the blade is for harder algae such as diatoms, the magnetic one is for soft algae such as as cyanobacteria

Thanks for showing us. I appreciate you testing these products so we know what's right for our tank. I actually have the magnetic scraper and I agree its very efficient ❤️❤️❤️

I have one of the magnetic scrapers for my betta's tank. I keep it under the water and he loves sitting on it like it's a lounge chair.

I’ve tried them all. I have different uses for each. The scraper is for the tough algae specs, the magnet is first go to because of easy to reach deep areas, sponge to be more exact

I have the magnet one for my aquarium and it is fun to play with. Sometimes the fishes are running after it. It's cute.

My grandma has been using the algae magnetic scraper for years on her piranha tank. Works like a dream (and the piranhas like to place with like a ball sometimes so they like it too lol)!

I still have my same magnetic scraper from the 80s. I have replaced the inside surface a couple of times.

It's all nice until you get a pebble stuck in the magnet and you scratch the glass

I had one of those on my tank as a kid! I remember scraping back and forth for HOURS, making sure to get all the gunk off. I was easy to entertain

Growing up I used to go with my dad to work, he used to have an aquarium cleaning business and sometimes I’d help him clean the tanks. My favorite part was the magnet bar algae wipers.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

My dad actually works at a manufacturing facility where they make these! I test them for him and they work great. I really reccomend them

I think a small magnetic one is good to keep clipped on the side for quick fast maintenance. And keep a metal scraper for those hard to reach places or the more built up algae spots the metal blade is the best. The sponge is okay too. But the plastic one simply isnt strong enough it just goes right over the algae...

I have a magnetic one for my large tank, never had an issue with it and it's been years. I've even noticed that when you wanna swap sides, you can just move the handle to the other corner and the scrubber will either float away then quickly float back and attach cause magnets or just stay together lol And worse case scenario, mine floats so. I never lose it lol
